Bill Kaulitz

Bill Kaulitz was born on September 1, 1989 in Leipzig, East Germany. He was born ten minutes after his identical twin brother, Tom, to Simone Kaulitz, a freelance tailor, and Jörg Kaulitz. His parents divorced when he was seven, and his mother remarried Gordon Trümper, a guitarist from the German rock band Fatun. It is said she was attracted to his umlaut. Gordon inspired Bill and Tom to begin their musical careers.

Bill's first brush with fame came with an appearance on the German version of "Star Search" when he was but a wee lad. According to Tokio Hotel lore, his appearance came as a result of a bet. Bill's story (and he's sticking to it, listen here, at about 3:20) is that Tom dared him to sing "It's Raining Men" and that the bet was about who got a particular girl. A look at the actual appearance, however, confuses things a bit, as young Bill talks about his girlfriend at the time not being able to be in the audience to watch the contest. There's only one explanation: Bill was cheating on his girlfriend! Scandalous! Similarly, in another video, Tom states that the brothers have disagreements, specifically about Bill's Star Search appearance (i.e., Tom wasn't down with that shit). Here's how it went down on Star Search (one can't deny he is ADORABLE):

Pesky videos with their facts and intervening with the current "truths"! In any case, Bill lost to some kid who performed that classic masterpiece, "Informer." But something good came out of it: a producer was watching the show and was taken by Bill. He showed up in Magdeburg in a van and scooped up the twins. Or something like that. In any case, soon enough Devilish (the precursor to TH) was signed on to a major record company...and then unceremoniously dropped...but then picked up by Universal, where the band became officially the Tokio Hotel we love today.

The second Tokio Hotel's debut album "Schrei" left the warehouse, Bill's voice began its painful trek toward puberty. It was not only painful for Bill, but also for the innocent ears of crazy fan girls all over Europe. Let's just say it was a horrible experience all-around and call it even:

[Editor's Note: Let's keep it real, though: Tom's guitar playing wasn't all that either, but this is a Bill post]

Bill has stated that his biggest musical influence is German pop artist Nena. He giggled like a four-year old girl when he first met her. Thankfully, the meeting was captured by the cameras:

Other favorites include Coldplay and Keane. Oh, and Placebo. Can't think why:

Placebo, by the way, is an amazing band. But I digress.

Bill is very famous for his androgynous look - because, well, he kind of looks like a girl:

He has been confusing men, women, and young girls for four years and counting with his looks. But even without make up, he is stunningly beautiful:

Bill has many attributes. Aside from his ever-changing hair styles, he has an amazing strut. His strut is in sharp contrast to his feminine persona, but the boy is nothing if not a walking contradiction.

At 19 years old, Bill became the youngest person to be immortalized in wax at the Madame Tussaud's museum in Berlin. His wax statue was unveiled on September 30, 2008. Much like serial killers who take trophies after killing their victims, many German girls took the opportunity to molest the statue and memorialize their heinous crimes:

There are currently warrants out for their arrest. If you run into any of them, be careful, they are considered horny and dangerous.

Bill along with 5 or more songwriters not in the band is busy writing songs for Tokio Hotel's next album. At the rate they're going, the album should be out by summer 2015, so you should be finding ways of staying busy, like starting fan blogs or something.

Trademarks: The hummingbird clap (which he does when he's really, really excited, as in the Nena meeting above, whenever the band wins an award, and who knows where/when else...), the wide smile, the make up, the unique fashion style, and proving that 6'2" men can shake it and not break it:

Billiam is this blogger's favorite.

Tom Kaulitz

Tom Kaulitz was born on September 1, 1989 in Leipzig ten minutes before his identical twin brother, Bill. Tom has a preference for Gibson guitars and skanky groupies. He is also fond (at least when he's drunk) of calling out his brother on any perceived lies. Exhibit A: the "das ist gelogen" incident:

Tom has stated his musical influences to be Aerosmith and German hip-hop (e.g., Samy Deluxe). It is unclear whether he likes Bushido, who has publicly courted his brother. As for musical ability, he is an average rhythm guitar player -- nobody alive has ever witnessed Tom play a guitar solo that has more than four notes. In terms of singing ability, well, judge for yourself:

Tom is an enigma and, like Bill, has a very unique fashion sense. And by "unique" I mean bad. Unlike his brother, Tom is (or strives to be) overly-macho (compensating much?) and never misses an opportunity to boast about his sexual prowess.

Tom is currently not playing the guitar parts for the upcoming record busy recording the upcoming record with the other boys in a Hamburg studio.

As of today, Tom appears to have dyed his naturally dirty-blonde hair black and to have cut off his dreads significantly. Fan girls all around the world are currently keeping a vigil in hopes that this is all a bad joke on Tom's part.
